A practical guide to the current development release.
Accounts, spaces and members
A space is an independent area where you or your business uses Kernel. Personal domain and business domain are product terms for these spaces. Their material and permissions are managed separately.
Three separate steps
- Website account: identifies you on the company platform; it does not grant business access.
- Space sign-in: enters a particular personal or business space with permissions decided there.
- Device authorization: allows a new device to access a particular space.
You do not need to memorize the technical structure. Start by identifying the space you want to enter. A website account cannot replace approval from a business administrator.
Administrators and members
Administrators manage members, sources and device authorization. Members work within their permitted scope. Ask an administrator for additional access rather than sharing an administrator password to avoid setup.
More than one space
Personal and business spaces can stay independently connected, while only one is active. Check the title after switching. Material, conversations and permissions do not automatically merge because the same client is used.
The complete arbitrary multi-business-space client journey still needs further qualification. Follow the actual entries and authorization supplied for your trial.
Leaving a team, a lost device or account trouble
Ask the administrator to revoke business membership or device access that is no longer needed. Website recovery uses your own recovery key and does not restore business membership. Keep the recovery file private and separate from shared work material.
