A practical guide to the current development release.
Meet Kernel
Kernel helps people and businesses connect the knowledge we accumulate with real data. Ask in everyday language, check the basis of an answer, clarify how work is done and move work forward within the permissions of your space.
OntoVana is the company. Kernel is the product. Mobile and desktop clients use the name Kernel. The product website selfkernel.com is the Kernel product website, with guides and entry to existing spaces. ontovana.com introduces the company. The arbitrary multi-domain work interface is still in development.
A useful first task
- Find a document and understand what it says.
- Ask about quantities, amounts or changes in data already connected to your space.
- Clarify a business concept, rule or way of working.
- Keep experience with its supporting evidence so later work can build on it.
You do not need a complete business manual before starting. Begin with one concrete question and add context gradually. Check important conclusions. Whether Kernel can carry out an action depends on your permissions and the capabilities actually connected to your space.
Find the page you need
Read Getting started and Installation and setup if you are new. Read Everyday use once you can sign in. Read Building useful knowledge and Knowledge packs when you want to develop your own knowledge. Go straight to Common problems when something fails.
This guide is for ordinary users and requires no programming knowledge. Kernel is currently a development release. Public installers, app-store downloads and self-service official hosting are not available yet. Each relevant page explains the current limits; a product direction is not a promise that every capability already exists.
